During this time, two-wheelers also stopped due to waterlogging and people were seen pulling them. Once again the drainage system was exposed. People who came out of their homes to the market for shopping in the evening got stuck.
Fear of damage to potato and mustard crops
There is a possibility of potato and mustard crops being damaged due to heavy rains. However, this rain is beneficial for the wheat crop. This time in Hathras, there is potato in about 51 thousand hectares and mustard in 16 thousand hectares. Mustard crop is lying harvested in the fields while some is standing ripe. Potato crop is ready and preparation for digging. Waterlogging will affect its quality and if waterlogging lasts for a long time, the potato may rot.
